Description
7 page story, "The Family Name" (written by James Cooper,) published in Holmes Inc. issue #2 by The Toronto Cartoonists Workshop in July 2011. You can get the 80-page issue with all the dialogue at HolmesIncComic.wordpress.com. Digital downloads are free.
The book is part of a 3-4 month long workshop offered to alumni who have taken one or more comic-book courses offered by the school. The intention of the workshop is to provide a real-world experience of how a book is created, from pitching a story to final production, complete with deadlines and editor feedback/requests. In addition to the boot camp workshops taught by Ty Templeton, I highly recommend the experience to anyone (in the Toronto area) wanting to get into the comic industry.
Art is shot straight from pencils (no inks) with digital screen-tones.
